She's A Rainbow.

One of the main advantages of living in such a rainy region (it's not just Manchester, it's everywhere) should be a proliferation of rainbows. Unfortunately, there's never enough sunshine, or the view is blocked by buildings, buildings, buildings. However, having endured torrential rain coming across Saddleworth Moor on the M62 on Sunday, we were treated to this beauty just as we entered beautiful downtown Prestwich.

What The World Is Waiting For.

Manchester Peregrine Falcon, originally uploaded by coxy.

Another blog. From Manchester. Well, strictly speaking from Prestwich, but with work in the city centre. I've ummed and ahhed for a long time. I've created, typed, launched and pulled two previous attempts as I couldn't focus down on the why and the what. Now I've decided to just write about what I'm interested in. Or, more likely, what I've found interesting, stimulating or uplifting on any particular day. Like the Manchester Peregrines, who I saw on an almost daily basis, usually perched on the 'E' of ARNDALE, during the summer, but haven't seen for a while. They must, as their name suggests, have wandered off. Eyes peeled for their safe return.

Some things in life are crying out for the legitimacy of a Proper Noun. That terrible thing that happens when you are scurrying through town in the rain and you step on a loose paving-stone and it flips slightly up, sending a jet of water into your path and you boot it full on, getting a shoeful in the process. That should have a name. It would have saved me a lot of typing and you a lot of reading if I had just been able to say that I was hurrying to the bus stop tonight and I ****'d.

And while we're on about bus stops what about when you see the bus at the stop, and you think you don't have enough time to get to it before it pulls off so you saunter casually rather than running only to find the bus actually pulls off just as you get to it. And if you'd bothered to run...?
